A man has been arrested after almost €270,000 worth of cannabis was found and seized at Rosslare Europort on Friday.
The drugs were discovered when an accompanied freight unit that had disembarked a ferry from France was stopped and searched by Revenue Officers.
During the search, officers uncovered 13.4kg of cannabis worth a whopping €268,000.
In a statement, gardaí said: “Gardaí have arrested a man following the seizure of cannabis worth €268,000 at Rosslare Europort by Revenue Officers on Friday, 17th January 2025.
“The drugs were discovered when an accompanied freight unit that had disembarked a ferry from Dunkirk, France was stopped and searched.
“A man in his 20s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in County Wexford under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
“Investigations are ongoing,” the statement concluded.
