Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body after they were alerted to an incident at a property in Ennis.
While exact details of what happened remain unclear, gardai have confirmed that a post mortem is to be carried out on the body of the deceased later this Friday.
"Gardaí and emergency services attended an incident yesterday afternoon - Thursday, June 13, 2024 - at a residential property on Clare Road, Ennis. A man, aged in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene," a garda spokesperson told Clare Live.
Following the discovery, the body of the man was removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary in University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will take place in due course.
"The results of the post mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation. A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court," added the spokesperson.
While investigations are ongoing, there is nothing, at this stage, to suggest foul play.
Forensic examinations of the property have been carried out and door-to-door enquiries are being carried out as part of the garda investigation.
