Clan na Gael 2-12 Young Irelands 0-15
Clan na Gael clinched victory at home to local rivals Young Irelands in a dramatic finale in this Louth GAA Division 2 clash on Thursday night.
Trailing by six points at the break, the visitors turned in an impressive second-half display and got back on level terms with just two minutes remaining.
However, it was the Clans who found the extra gear as a goal from Billy Smith along with points from Robbie Curran and Aodhan Kirk saw them come out on top.
The game began with Smith and Liam McStravick exchanging points before Kirk hit the net in the ninth minute to give the Clans the advantage.
With the help of points from Mark McGeown and Paul Crewe, the hosts went in at the break leading by 1-8 to 0-5. Dermot Mone and James Prendergast pointed to keep the Irelanders in touch.
Jordan O’Donoghue and Ruairi Kelly led the second half revival for the visitors and a two-pointer from the latter helped his side get back on terms at 0-13 to 1-10 with 58 minutes on the clock.
However, they were unable to find the lead score and the Clans regained the initiative in the closing stages to secure victory.

Dundalk Gaels remain the only unbeaten team in Division 2 after they held off the challenge of Roche Emmets in Pairc de Roiste on Friday night.
In what proved to be a very competitive affair, the hosts were leading by a point at the break but were unable to push on in the second half as The Ramparts side hit back to edge a tight contest.
Once again Tom O’Connell was the star man for the Intermediate Champions as they landed eight points over the hour and also found the back of the net to help his side to victory.
The goal came in the opening half but it wasn’t enough to send his team in with an advantage as Liam Dawe scored at the other end to see Roche lead by 1-6 to 1-5.
The second period proved to be equally well-contested as Barry O’Hare and Daire Reilly kept the scoreboard ticking over. However, the Dundalk men did enough to secure another win with Gary Shevlin and Eanna McArdle landing vital two-pointers.

St Brides 1-20 St Kevins 0-15
St Kevins’ unbeaten run in the Division 2 League came to an end on Friday evening as a strong St. Bride's team proved too powerful at Philipstown.
Missing key players Cian Callan and Tom Matthews, the hosts struggled to contain the visitors' dominant midfield in a tough encounter.
Lee Crosbie opened the scoring with a point from play after two minutes, but St. Bride's quickly found their rhythm. Between the 9th and 12th minutes, they struck 1-3 without reply, the goal coming in the 10th minute from Donal McArdle to put them firmly in control.
St. Bride's continued to dominate possession through their impressive midfield, adding two more points from play before Brian Callaghan responded in the 19th minute.
The visitors extended their lead with a further four points, including two frees, before Seanie Crosbie reduced the deficit just before the interval, to 1-9 to 0-3.
The Philipstown side emerged with renewed determination for the second half, scoring four unanswered points in eight minutes. Lee Crosbie converted two frees, while Robbie Matthews and Evan Maher added points to cut the gap to 1-9 to 0-7.
Jacob Finlay narrowed the gap further with a point from play in the 13th minute, but St. Bride's responded with two quick points to extend their lead.
Despite Lee Crosbie's accuracy from placed balls the Brides continued to pick off scores with alarming regularity, adding eight more points in the closing stages to seal victory, on a night when Peter Carragher, Kevin Hearty and Michael Keane scored three points apiece. Kilkerley Emmets 1-20 Mattock Rangers 4-10
A game of two halves as Kilkerley Emmets had a storming second half to come back and eclipse Mattock Rangers on home soil. The result now sees Emmets join Rangers on six points and joint fourth in the Division 2 table.
The Collon side were 12 points up at half time and will come away with some questions on how the loss happened. Ben McKenna struck the first of four first half goals for Rangers in a dominant opening period.
Cathal Fleming hit the net but also missed a penalty, following Jack Thompson and a Sean Flynn effort to make it 4-6 to 0-9 before the break. However, halftime substitute Fintan Brady came in and had an impact straightaway.
With Tadhg McEneaney mounting the revival, Micheal Begley rasped home a momentum-swinging goal.
Mattock held on with frees from Fleming but it would not be enough. McEneaney won the game with the last kick. A free that was taken up to 21 metres from midfield for dissent in added time.

O’Raghallaigh’s 0-20 Glen Emmets 1-13
O’Raghallaigh’s got back to winning ways with an important win over Glen Emmets at home in the splendid Integral Gaelic Grounds. In perfect conditions, the hosts were in the scoring mood.
Right from the off, Keith Horgan’s side were up for it. Kyle McElroy began his night with excellent scores topped up by Ruairi Moore in the middle of the field. Emmets had no answer bar James Butler and Cathal Maguire points.
With the home side ten points up at the break, 0-12 to 0-2, it was up to Kevin Barry’s side to get back into the contest. Kealan O’Neill did make it tricky at times with four unanswered scores but Moore would close the game out.
There was time for young replacement Jacob Morgan to find the net again from the bench but the hoops would move up the table away from the relegation play-off spot.

The opening half was close as Cian Brady, starting from the off, had the home side in touch but Bobby Butterly’s first half goal gave Stabannon the confidence with a six point gap at the turn, 1-8 to 0-5.
Fresh from Leinster championship-winning celebrations Dylan Shevlin took over in the middle of the field. The youngster helped himself to five points too while Harry Butterly’s talent shone again with placed kicks.
Plunketts had no answer to the place kicking and dominance as they now find themselves just hovering above the relegation spot. Parnells with Butterly on song are a match for anyone under the new enhancements.
