Knockbridge inflicted an opening round defeat on Naomh Moninne in this tough Maurice Murphy Cup encounter played in Toberona, Dundalk on Thursday night.
The concession of two early Robert Wallace goals had the home side trailing by 2-2 to 0-0 after just five minutes.
Three points from Ultan McEnaney and a brace from Dylan Carey helped them to trail by 2-4 to 0-6 after 20 minutes. The two Knockbridge points came from the stick of full forward Brian Corcoran.

The sides shared the next two points in between which Donal Connolly pulled off a good double save to deny the visitors a third goal.
Three further points on the run into half time from Darren O Hanrahan, Eoin Murphy (free) and Martin Tkacz saw Moninne trailing by 2-5 to 0-9 at the break. Moninne reduced the arrears to one on the resumption with a Dylan Carey pointed free.
Knockbridge continued to hold the upperhand adding points from Gareth Hall, Aidan Fitzpatrick and Brian Coughlan to lead by 2-8 to 0-11.
The sides shared the next four points with Eoin Murphy accounting for both the Moninne scores from frees.
Midfielder Robert Wallace fired over the winner's last point from distance as Murphy responded with his fourth of the game but it was the village outfit that held out for the victory.
