An exciting weekend of girls' football begins on Saturday morning

Ten local football clubs will take to the pitch this weekend at Oriel Park for the 2024 Louth School Girls League Finals, sponsored by Dundalk Credit Union.

20 teams representing ten different clubs are ready to battle it out for the silverware with Glen Magic Soccer Academy leading the way with four teams in the finals. 

They are followed by Rock Celtic and Bellurgan United that each have sides in the final, and Quay Celtic with two teams.

The Dundalk-based clubs are joined by Albion Rovers and Blayney Academy, who also have two finalists each. 

Completing the line-up are Ardee Celtic, Drogheda Girls, Dromin United, and East Meath United that will all have one team competing.

The weekend of football is an event that promises excitement for all ages as teams compete across multiple age groups, with games ranging from U11s to U16s.

Tickets are priced at €8 for adults and cover access to every game across the weekend. Children U16 get in free when accompanied by an adult. 

The action kicks off on Saturday morning with the U11s Shield and Cup finals both played in a 7-a-side format.

Other games include Glen Magic against Drogheda Girls in the U14s Cup final on Saturday afternoon and the U16s Cup final between Ardee Celtic and Bellurgan United on Sunday at 4:00 pm.

Saturday, 23rd November:

9:45am - U11s Shield: Rock Celtic Red vs. Blayney Academy Yellow (7-a-side)

9:45am - U11s Cup: Bellurgan United vs. Glen Magic (7-a-side)

11:15am - U12s Shield: Albion Rovers vs. Glen Magic Gold (9-a-side)

12:45pm - U12s Cup: Quay Celtic vs. Bellurgan United (9-a-side)

2:30pm - U14s Shield: Rock Celtic vs. Dromin United

4:30pm - U14s Cup: Drogheda Girls vs. Glen Magic

Sunday, 24th November

10:00am - U13s Shield: East Meath United vs. Blayney Academy

12:00pm - U13s Cup: Glen Magic vs. Quay Celtic

2:00 - U16s Shield: Rock Celtic vs. Albion Rovers

4:00 - U16s Cup: Ardee Celtic vs. Bellurgan United
