St Mochtas concluded a very impressive league season on Wednesday night with a routine victory over Cooley Kickhams at Fr McEvoy Park.

The result means that the Louth Village side ends the campaign on top of the table as they finish a point clear of St Marys, and the teams will meet on Sunday to decide the destination of the Cardinal O’Donnell Cup.

The visitors were in charge of the game from the outset and goals from Conor Garland and Shane Lennon saw them take a commanding 2-8 to 0-4 lead into the break.

Although Cooley added four points to their tally, a comeback was never on the cards as the Mochtas continued to dominate. A third goal from Ben Goss Kieran sealed the victory.
