COOLEY KICKHAMS 1-11
ST. PATRICKS 0-13
Cooley Kickhams got one over their neighbours as they emerged with a one-point victory over St Patricks at Fr McEvoy Park on Friday night. A first half goal, combined with a bright start to the second half, did the damage for the hosts as the held out despite a strong final quarter from the Pats.
It was the visitors who struck first through Brian Commons, and although Cooley hit back, the Pats landed further points from Danny O’Connor and Tom McCann to lead by 0-3 to 0-2 on 20 minutes. However, the Kickhams then produced the only goal of the game to see them take a 1-5 to 0-7 lead into the break.
Within six minutes of the restart, the home side added three points to open up a gap of four. The teams traded points for the remainder of the third quarter and it was looking good for Cooley when they went 1-10 to 0-10 clear on 47 minutes.
The Lordship side responded with points from Danny O’Connor (2) and Conor McGuinness but the Kickhams landed the penultimate score of the game to ensure they came out on top.

ST. MARYS 4-13
ST. MOCHTAS 0-16
St Mochtas suffered defeat for only the second time in the league campaign as St Marys secured victory in this top-of-the-table clash in Louth Village on Saturday. The result consolidates the Ardee side’s position in second place, but the Mochtas still have a healthy five-point advantage at the top.
There wasn’t a lot between the teams for much of the game but it was the visitors’ eye for goal that proved the difference in the end. Jonathan Commins, Ronan Carroll, TJ Doheny and Daire McConnon all found the net to help their side to nine-point win.
The high-scoring encounter began with St Mochtas getting off the mark first but it was no surprise that the first eight points were shared to leave the teams level at four points apiece on 17 minutes.
The hosts edged ahead with the next point but the final two scores of the half were goals for the Marys as they went in with a 2-4 to 0-5 advantage.
With Declan Byrne on form in front of the posts, the Mochtas cut the gap to 2-6 to 1-9 early in the second half and were still in contention entering the final quarter. However, the Ardee men struck a third goal to take a firm grip on proceedings and put the result beyond doubt with a fourth in the closing stages.

GERALDINES 1-9
MATTOCK RANGERS 1-7

It was a fast start that had the home side in control. In a low scoring affair, Gers dominated possession and led by three points at the break.
Mattock nearly got to half time in touch but wides and a late goal from Oisín McKenna gave the visitors some hope but Brian Cafferty had other ideas. The youngster’s early goal would prove crucial down the stretch.
In the second half, Fergus Flynn’s side threw everything at the McGeough park men. Brian Corcoran pointed off the bench the Collon men pushed for parity. Despite finishing with 14 men, Míceál Magill’s side held firm and saw off their challengers and exhaled a huge sigh of relief.

ROCHE EMMETS 1-11
ST. FECHINS 0-9
Both sides were looking for the three points from Saturday evening’s encounter and in the end it was Roche Emmets who came away with the spoils.
The first half was a very low scoring affair with Roche the more promising of the two teams although both sides were guilty of a number of wides. Roche opened the scoring with a point from play six minutes in with Fechins having to wait till the 11th minute for their first point from a free expertly taken by James McGlew.
Roche added three more, two from placed balls before Bevan Duffy, back from county action, popped one over the bar. The teams exchanged a brace of scores, Fechins coming from Joe Corrigan and Aaron McGlew to cut the deficit to 0-6 to 0-4 at the break.
It was Roche again that came out fighting in the second half with two more points from the restart. But Fechins hit a purple patch and to their credit pulled back to a draw with at 0-8 each, with scores coming from Joe Corrigan (3), James McGlew.
Heading into the final quarter it was all to play for but Roche hit back almost immediately with a pivotal score finding the back of the net through Mark Byrne followed by a point to put four between the sides.
St Fechins got it hard to get back in the game with blanket defence from the visitors quelling any attacks. Two more from Roche and one from the home side saw the visitors to Beaulieu run out a deserved five-point win and the all-important 3 points on the table.

NEWTOWN BLUES 0-10
Nh Mairtin reclaimed third place in the Division 1 table thanks to a comfortable victory over Newtown Blues on Saturday evening. Despite trailing by two points at the interval, the Jocks found their rhythm in the second half and a hat-trick from Val Leddy saw them over the line.
The game in Newfoundwell saw the hosts get off the mark first through a Conor Branigan point, followed by a second from Andy McDonnell. Eoghan Callaghan got the visitors off the mark and although Tom Gray added another, it was the Blues who held a 0-5 to 0-3 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Darrragh Doriann and Bryan McQuillan pointed for the Monasterboice side but it was the Blues who went in leading by 0-7 to 0-5 thanks to scores from Ross Nally and Branigan.
The Mairtins grabbed the initiative at the start of the second half as Leddy struck his first goal to help them lead by two. Leddy’s second goal on 47 minutes put his side very much in charge with a 2-8 to 0-9 advantage. SEAN O’MAHONYS 0-8
Dreadnots opened up further distance between themselves and the relegation battle thanks to this victory at home to the Sean O’Mahonys on Saturday.
The Clogher men were in control of the game for much of the hour and ran out deserving winners by five points and in the process move ahead of their opponents in the table.
Paraic Smith grabbed the only goal of the match and that proved decisive as his side came out on top. That goal came in the opening half and helped the hosts to take a 1-6 to 0-4 lead into the break.
With Jay Hughes in fine form as he landed six points, and Craig Shevlin contributing two, the Dreadnots never looked like losing that advantage in the second period and they eased to victory in the end.
