CLAN NA GAEL 1-8
ST BRIDES 0-9
Clan na Gael moved a point ahead of St Brides in Division 2 thanks to this narrow victory at Castletown on Saturday evening. The hosts laid the foundations for victory on a strong first half showing that saw them lead by five points at the break. Although the Brides fought back well in the second period, they fell just short in the end.
The hosts got off to a great start as Shane Coleman found the net for their opening score of the game. The Brides fought hard to get back into the game but the Clans maintained the upper hand and at the break had established a 1-5 to 0-3 advantage.
Led by the scoring of Kieran McArdle, the Knockbridge men fought back to within a point of the Clans. However, the Dundalk side had the final say as they secured a two-point win on a night when Gavin Gaffey, Shane Carroll and Liam O’Hanlon finished with two points apiece.

HUNTERSTOWN ROVERS 0-18
YOUNG IRELANDS 2-11
Ryan Burns marked his return to club duty with a dramatic injury-time winner to hand Hunterstown victory over Young Irelands at Pairc Eire Og on Saturday night.
The Louth star pointed from a free six minutes into added time to break the Young Irelands resistance after it looked as if Jordan O’Donoghue had secured a share of the spoils for the hosts.
The Irelanders went into the game hoping for a win to boost their promotion hopes but despite a battling display, they were unable to get any reward for their efforts.
The Dundalk men couldn’t have asked for a better start as they opened their scoring with a James Prendergast goal inside a minute, and three minutes later Dean Maguire had the ball in the net for a second time.
However, Hunterstown didn’t panic and with the Burns and Ryan Ward finding their range, along with scores from David Finn and Jamie O’Callaghan, they went in at the break level at nine points apiece.
The Young Irelands made a bright start to the second half and claimed the first three points through Prendergast (2) and Liam McStravick. Rovers hit back and went a point ahead on 60 minutes through James Rogers and although O’Donoghue levelled for the home side, it was Burns who had the final say to give his side victory.

LANNLEIRE 2-4
ST KEVINS 0-9
Lannleire came out on top in this local derby when they held out to defeat St Kevins by a single point at Pairc Ui Mhuiri on Saturday night.
Despite not adding to their score after the restart, the hosts did enough to claim a victory that sees them move off the foot of the Division 2 table.
Lannleire got off to a flying start as Darragh Malone had the ball in the net after six minutes and before the end of the first quarter they added a second when Kyle Van Rhyn was on target.
Cameron Maher did his best to keep the Kevins in touch as he chipped in with three first half points, while Lee Crosbie, Brian Callaghan and Cian Callan added points to cut the gap to 2-4 to 0-6 at the break.
The second half developed into a tense affair in which defences were on top. Although the visitors accounted for the only three scores of the half through Callan (2) and Callaghan, they were unable to find the equaliser and Lannleire held out for a vital win.
Both teams finished with 14 men after Callan dismissal was followed late on by a red for Malone.

STABANNON PARNELLS 3-13
O RAGHALLAIGH’S 3-11
An open game of football that would have done wonders for the neutral saw Stabannon Parnells defeat O Raghallaigh’s in a high scoring encounter at the bottom half of Division 2B.
All the goals came after the break in a flurry of green flags. Seán Reynolds the first, then Harry Butterly directly after Barry Flanagan struck his first. Harry Butterly found the net but his free-taking again was the difference on the night.
Dylan Shevlin netted Wayne Kieran’s outfit’s third, while former Louth minor John Horn did add a consolation off the bench for the Drogheda side but it wouldn’t be enough. Parnells have got perfect lift at the start of the split while the loss now succumbs Andrew Rogan’s side to the foot of table.
