Local designer Gareth Matthews from Dromiskin has entered a dress he designed, named ‘Love It Glamourrrr’ into the Diet Coke Design Competition for Belfast Fashion Week.
The top three designs will be made and showcased at Belfast Fashion Week on October 20 and the winning design will get a mini scholarship in the London College of fashion.
I was flicking through one of the Sunday papers in August when I noticed a small article calling all budding designers, to design an outfit for Belfast Fashion Week. I ripped it out straight away, followed it up and downloaded the design brief.”
From an early age Gareth was fascinated with wedding gowns.
Through his childhood and teens Gareth was always drawing gowns until he discovered Wedding and Event planning.
‘Relax Weddings & Events’ was established by Gareth Matthews in 2002 after helping a family member with the planning of their wedding.
From this Gareth found he had a huge interest in wedding and event planning, so ‘Relax’ was set up hoping to help couples and clients with planning their special events.
