Singer song-writer Cathy Davey is due to headline quay side music venue the Spirit Store this Sunday, October 6.

A few tickets are still available at a cost of €16 and can be purchased from the spirit Store itself, online at www.spiritstore.ie or from McAteers Food House on Clanbrassil Street.

The songstress is most frequently compared to the likes of Björk, PJ Harvey and Kate Bush, and is known for her unique sounds of rock infused with hypnotic tones which create sensitivity alongside angst.

Cathy recently took a year out from the music scene but returned this summer and has been touring Slovakia and the Czech Republic at various music festivals for most of June and July.

The singer is also working on a new album but no release date has been set yet.

Her previous albums have garnered her nominations and awards with her second album ‘Tales of Silversleeve’ receiving a Choice Music Prize nomination and winning the singer the Meteor Award for Best Irish Female.

Her last album to date, ‘The Nameless’, which was released in 2010 was also the top selling album in Ireland upon the week of its release and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize.

The song-writer has performed at several international events, including representing Ireland at the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen, the Netherlands, and performing at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

She has worked with Autamata, Elbow and The Duckworth Lewis Method and has provided support for Graham Coxon, R.E.M. and Supergrass.

Never one to fail to impress, Cathy’s gig is definitely not one to miss so get your tickets now.
