The Bay Tree Restaurant in Belvedere House has been crowned winner of Best Restaurant in Louth at the Leinster Regional Final of the Santa Rita Irish Restaurant Awards 2013.
This is the second year in a row that the restaurant has won the award, which is presented by the Restaurant Association of Ireland.
The restaurant, which is located in Newry Street in the village, was opened in 2007 by local chef Conor Woods, when he realised his dream of opening his own restaurant in Carlingford.
Using all Irish produce whenever possible, The Bay Tree has built up a deserving reputation amongst locals and holiday-makers alike.
In just a few short years it has become one of the most talked about, exciting restaurants in the Louth area.
The awards, which took place in The Marker Hotel in Dublin last night, named the top restaurants in Leinster for 2013.
All county winners now compete for the regional and all Ireland titles at the main event, taking place in The Burlington Hotel in Dublin on Monday, June 10.
