May they rest in peace

The death has occurred of Kathleen Roddy (née Rice) of Old Road, Bellurgan, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, in her 103rd year, in the dedicated care of the staff of Carlingford Nursing Home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank, parents Margaret and Thomas (Aghameen) and siblings Paddy, Molly (Keenan), Michael, Tom, Sr. Sheila (Mount Oliver) and Jimmy.

She will be sadly missed by her sorrowing sons and daughters Michael, Tom, Mary and Teresa (Hanratty), son-in-law John, daughters-in-law Alice and Anita, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Fidelis Rice, Teresa Rice and Frances Rice, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home from 2pm-8pm on Thursday 19 March. Removal on Friday 20 March to the Church of Our Lady of the Wayside, Jenkinstown, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Ravensdale. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Carlingford Omeath Red Cross. Enquiries to Quinn’s Funeral Homes.

The death has occurred of Thomas Hoey of Teach Bán, Lordship and formerly St. John of God, Drumcar and Oakland Park, Dundalk, Co Louth 

Peacefully, in the dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by his parents Hugh and Susan and aunts and uncles, especially Briege. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing sister Freda, nieces Alison, Ciara and Hannah, brother-in-law Donal, all of his relatives and his St. John of God family, especially at Teach Bán.

Reposing in the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Homes, Dundalk from 3pm-8pm on Wednesday 18 March. Removal on Thursday 19 March at 10.40am, proceeding on foot to St. Nicholas' Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Dromiskin Cemetery. Enquiries to Quinn’s Funeral Homes.

The death has occurred of Maura Mathews (née Dalaney) of Sandfield Gardens, Blackrock, Co Louth and formerly of Roscrea, Co Tipperary

Peacefully, on 17 March 2026, while in the tender and devoted care of the staff at Louth County Hospital, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Beloved wife of John, cherished mother of Shane. Sister of Michael, Breda and Pauline. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her heartbroken husband, son, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, warmth and gentle presence.

Reposing at McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk, from 4pm until 7pm on Wednesday. House strictly private at all times. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.50am from the Funeral Home to St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Fursey’s cemetery Haggardstown, via Sandy Lane, Blackrock. The death has occurred of Ellen Bernadette (Ita) O'Reilly (née McEneaney) of Mountain Park, Carlingford, Co Louth and formerly Oram, Castleblaney, Co Monaghan

Peacefully at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Sean, daughters Elizabeth and Bernadette (Murphy), grandson Mark McGrath, parents Margaret and James McEnaney and her sisters and brothers. Very deeply regretted by her daughters and sons Mary, Eugene, Declan, Oliver, Josephine and Anthony, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends

The death has occurred of Cyril Whitmarsh of Greenwood Drive, Red Barns Road, Dundalk, and formerly Barrack Street, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents George and Rose, and his brothers Frank, Paddy and Tony. Beloved husband and best friend of Anne (née White), and much-loved dad of Tony, Gary, Niall, Colin and Ronan.

Cyril will be forever missed and remembered with love by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law Karen, Mairead, Julie, Aileen and Linda, cherished grandchildren Caolon, Anya, Keela, Shauna, Neill, Eimear, Sean, Alan, Conor, Shane, Emma, Liam, Finn and Oran, brother Victor, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, and wonderful neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home, Greenwood Drive, on Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm to 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10.30am on foot to the entrance of Greenwood Drive, then driving to St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. House private Friday morning please. Family flowers only. Enquiries to Shevlin’s Funeral Home.
