Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (ETB) representatives
Representatives from Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) attended this year’s annual Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) Let’s Talk Ethos Symposium, joining educators from across the country for a day of reflection, collaboration and professional development.
The symposium featured a keynote address by Dr. Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children, and explored key themes including anti-racism, online regulation and LGBTQ+ inclusion. His address encouraged educators to consider how school communities can continue to uphold children’s rights and foster inclusive environments for all students.
This year’s Let’s Talk Ethos Symposium offered a deeper exploration of the shared ethos underpinning ETB schools. Through a thought-provoking keynote, interactive workshops and meaningful opportunities to network and exchange best practice, teachers were supported in strengthening the enactment of the ETBI Patrons’ Framework on Ethos across their schools.

Registration for the event was open to one teacher from each ETB school. For post-primary schools, the symposium was specifically designed for Ethos Leads, or alternatively a member of the ethos leadership team or an IMBVE teacher where the Ethos Lead was unavailable. Community National Schools, Community Special Schools and Community Hospital Schools were encouraged to nominate their Ethos Lead or GMGY Coordinator to attend.
