Go ahead given for extension to church in Dundalk
Louth County Council has given the go ahead for an extension at The Miracle Hand Church for The Redeemed Christian Church at the Castletown Road in Dundalk.
Redeemed Christian Church Miracle Hand Church applied for planning permission in January 2025 for a ground and first floor extension to the front and side of an existing church building at the site.
Plans for the ground floor include of a new entrance and entrance foyer. The planned extension consists of six new bible study classrooms, toilets and storage.
It will also include a reception area, boardroom and offices with toilet facilities. The planned development also includes elevational changes to all sides of the existing church.
The planned development also includes a new car parking layout with the introduction of footpaths, tactile surfaces, disabled parking, EV charging bay parking, and bicycle parking. The application also included the preparation of a Natura Impact Statement in relation to the development.

Louth County Council made the decision to grant conditional planning permission for the development on 13 January 2026.
