The death has occurred of Ina Broughall (née Quigley) of Beech Park, Blackrock, Dundalk, Co  Louth and formerly of St Anthony’s, Green Lane, Rathnapish, Co Carlow

Former National President of The Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA). Passed away peacefully in her 94th Year, in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Oliver Plunkett Nursing Home, St. Cecilia’s Ward, on Monday 26 January 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Gerard (Ger), and parents Edward and Annie. Beloved mother of Niall, Conor, Aisling and Daragh.

Ina will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, daughter, son-in-law Peter Farren, daughters-in-law Antoinette and Fiona, adored grandchildren Ciara, Róisín, Cillian, Craig, Garvan, Neil, Aaron, Shauna and Rebecca, great-grandchildren, brother Kevin, sister Therese Jackman, nephews, nieces, extended family relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her daughter Aisling Farren, Willow Grove, Carrick Road on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 10.40am driving to St. Joseph’s Redemptorst Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow arriving at 3pm approximately. Family flowers only, please. The death has occurred of Susan (Susie) Cowe of Clos Na Manach, Carlingford and formerly Knocknagoran, Omeath, Co Louth

Predeceased by her father Oliver Rafferty. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Alannah, mother Peggy, brothers John, Paul and Colm, sisters Rosie and Catherine, sisters-in-law Tina and Lisa, Alannah's father Aidan and all her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her brother Paul, Knocknagoran, Omeath, for neighbours and friends to call on Thursday from 2:00pm - 8:00pm. Removal on Friday morning proceeding on foot to St. Laurence's Church, Omeath arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Sheila Fitzpatrick of Rathgory, Dunleer, Co Louth

In her 90th year, peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her family. Sheila, beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Julia. Predeceased by her brothers Patrick and Denis and her sisters Mary, Frances, and Bernadette. She will be missed by her brother Nicky, sister-in-law Mary, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and the staff of St Joseph’s Nursing Home, Ardee who gave exceptional care to Sheila over the last eight years.

Reposing at Connor’s Funeral Home, Dunleer, on Thursday from 4pm until 7pm, followed by removal to The Church of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception, Tenure arriving for Evening Prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am. Burial afterwards in Monasterboice Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Bernard Murphy of St. Gerard’s Row, Muchgrange, Greenore, Co Louth

Peacefully, at home, in the care of his loving family. Predeceased by his baby son Dermot, parents James and Katie and brother Seamus. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife Dympna, sons and daughters Martin, Gerard, Caitriona, Linda, Claire, Maria and Brian, sons-in-law Tomás and Vincey, daughters-in-law Eavan, Jennifer and Louise, grandchildren Dearbhla, Saoirse, Rían, Nicole, Fiadh, Caitlin and Hannah, brother Peter, sister Kathleen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on both Wednesday and Thursday, from 2pm-9pm. Removal on Friday, proceeding on foot to the Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Boher, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Kidney Association. Enquiries to Quinn’s Funeral Homes.

The death has occurred of Noel Sampson of Moira Terrace & formerly of Kilcroney, Readypenny, Dundalk, Co Louth

Suddenly on Sunday 25 January 2026. Sadly missed by his much loved and heartbroken parents John and Nellie, his loving brothers and sister Oliver, Sean and Angela, brother-in-law Ian, sister-in-law Vanessa and Sean's partner Gemma, his aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and good friends.

Reposing at Finlay's Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee, on Thursday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Home is private on Friday morning please. Removal on Friday to St. Mary's Church, Knockbridge arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Diabetes Ireland.
