May they rest in peace

The death has occurred of Monica Byrne (née Smyth) of Lisrenny, Tallanstown, Co Louth

Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday 18 January 2026. Predeceased by her husband Peter and adored son Thomas, her brothers Jim, Dessie and Tom, and sisters Bernie, May, Ursula and Vera. She will be sadly missed by her much loved and cherished sons Robert (Robbie) and Allan and daughter Sara, her beloved grandchildren Ella, Maeve, Emily and Olivia, Robert's partner Jenny, her nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and her wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Finlay's Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee, Co. Louth on Tuesday from 3pm to 7pm. Removal on Wednesday morning leaving from her home to Sts. Peter and Paul's Church, Tallanstown arriving for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Oliver Plunkett's Cemetery Tallanstown. House is strictly private at all times, please. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Irish Cancer Society.

The death has occurred of Patricia Linden (née Mulholland) of Coopers Cross, Castlebellingham, Co Louth

Peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by her family. Patricia, beloved wife of the late Ronnie and loving mother of James, Teresa, Karen, Damien, Ronan and Jenni. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Alicia, daughter Tracey, daughter-in-law Siobhan, brother Frank and sisters Alice and Mary.

Deeply regretted by her sons, daughters, sons-in-law Paddy, Diarmaid and Éanna, daughters-in-law Alison, Irene and Grainne, brothers Hugh, Noel and John, sisters Lily, Kathleen, Peggy and Anna, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Dylan, Megan, Odhrán, Mia, Sinead, Danielle, Dáire, Ruaíri, Aoife, Sean, Éabha, Jamie, Noah, Carrie, Lewis, Bronagh, Cillian and Éanna, great-grandchildren James, Fiadh and Aria, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Connor’s Funeral Home, Dunleer, on Tuesday from 2pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to Saint Mary’s Church, Kilsaran, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. House private please.

The death has occurred of Vincent Walsh of Whitmore Lodge, Dunleer, Co. Louth and Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon

Peacefully, at Whitmore Lodge, with his family by his side. Predeceased by parents Vincent and Norrie and his brother-in-law Martin. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his brothers Liam and Noel, sisters Ann, Paula and Karen, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives and the staff and residents of Whitmore Lodge.

Reposing at The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Removal from the funeral home on Thursday to St. Nathy’s Cathedral arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am followed by interment in Kilcolman Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Whitmore Lodge, St. John of God, Dunleer, c/o Sharkey Funeral Directors.
