May they rest in peace

The death has occurred of Mary Kirby (née Hoey) of Philip Street, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, in her 90th year, in the tender care of the staff at Silverstream Nursing Home on Sunday 4 January 2026. Predeceased by her husband John and daughter Ann McMahon. Beloved and cherished mother of Yvonne Finegan, Geraldine McCoy, Patricia Prenty and Marie Kirby.

Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, sons-in-law Padraig, Michael, Paul, Donal and Gerry, adored grandchildren Seán, Niamh, Áine, Mikaela, Aoife, Eoin, Liam, Ronan, Kate, Claire, Evan and Nathan, and great-granddaughters Leah, Amelia and Síofra, nephews, nieces, extended family relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Shevlin’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street on Monday from 12 noon to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday morning at 10.40am driving to St. Nicholas’ Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Enquiries to Shevlin’s Funeral Home.

The death has occurred of Liam Oliver of Castletowncooley, Riverstown, Dundalk, Co Louth

At home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Willie and Cathy and brother Cathal. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife Marie, sons David, Ronan and Liam, daughters Catríona and Fiona, daughters-in-law Laura, Anne Marie and Anne, son-in-law Ashley and Richard, grandchildren Henry, Heidi, Patrick, Colin, Archie, Charlie and Sadie, brother Pádraig, his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home on Monday 5 January from 12 noon-8pm. Removal on Tuesday 6 January, via The Acre to St. James' Church, Grange, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired online to the Maria Goretti Foundation. Enquiries to Quinn’s Funeral Homes.
