A decision had initially been due on the application in August but it was put on hold following the request from Louth County Council in August for further information on the proposed development. Following the submission by Lajona Limited of further information on 17 October, Louth County Council granted planning permission on 2 December, subject to 24 planning conditions.

A third party appeal against the decision was made by Kevin Shields on 15 December 2025. It is not yet known when the case will be decided upon.
