M1 closed near Louth following a collision

Emergency services are in attendance and a recovery is in progress

The M1 Northbound between Junction 7, Drogheda and Junction 8, Duleek is closed following a five vehicle collision.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland have confirmed diversions are in place at Junction 7 and are urging drivers to avoid the area if possible.

They have also confirmed that emergency services are in attendance and a recovery is in progress.

In a statement gardai said:

"Gardaí and emergency services are attending a road traffic collision involving five vehicles on the M1 Northbound, near junction 7, Co Louth today Friday 19th December 2025 shortly before 12:00pm.

"No further details are available at this time."
