MEP Nina Carberry hosting the Mid Louth Youth Service in the European Parilament, Brussels
Local MEP, Nina Carberry hosted members from the Mid Louth Youth Service in the European Parliament this week, giving them an opportunity to see firsthand how the EU works and what projects are being developed for young people.
During the visit, MEP Carberry brought the group on a guided tour of the Parliament and explained her work across various committees.
The group participants were: Kayla Bannon, Elizabeth Carragher, Lauren Doyle, Katie Duffy, Kayla Farrell-Carragher, Diane Ford-McCoy, Fraya Harris, Michael Mc Coy, Shawn Mc Inerney, Adam Mc Mullen Murtagh, Rhys Murphy, Niall Newberry, Katie Nugent, Jamie Ross-Coffey, Aislinn Sauramba, Sophie Sharkey, Callum Yore and Killian Yore.
MEP Carberry noted that the EU is working to expand apprenticeships, skills development and increase funding opportunities for community services through the Erasmus + programme.

She also highlighted the importance of the EU-funded PEACE PLUS initiative, the programme that continues to finance community projects on both sides of the border.
Speaking with the local MEP, the group raised the need for more education about Europe to be brought into schools and to make it easier for youth groups to apply and draw down from EU funds.
