The death has occurred of Colonel Henry (Harry) Johnston (Retd) of Lissan House, Priorland Road, Dublin Road, Dundalk, Louth
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Harry, beloved husband of Elizabeth (née McDonnell) and dear father of Mark, Harry, and Paul. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Annie (late of Deerpark, Ravensdale), sisters Alice and Lilly, and brothers Tommy and Jim. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, sons, daughters‑in‑law Sinead, Claire, and Jackie, his adored grandchildren Naoise, Amy, Millie, Kaelem, Nessa, and Cara, sister Winnie, sister‑in‑law Delamar, Carers Nadia and Natasia, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, Army colleagues, friends, and neighbours.
Harry dedicated his life to service in the Irish Defence Forces, rising to the rank of Colonel and serving on numerous United Nations peacekeeping missions in the Congo and the Middle East. He will be fondly remembered for his strength of character and gentle nature.
Reposing at his home, Lissan House, Priorland Road, Dundalk, for public visitation on Monday 1 December from 4pm to 8pm. Removal on Tuesday 2nd December at 1.30pm driving to Haggardstown Church, for Funeral Mass at 2pm followed by burial in Haggardstown Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Margaret McGrath (née Lehane) of Ashgrove, Avenue Road, Dundalk, Co Louth and formerly Kilmichael, Co Cork.
Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Silverstream Nursing Home on Sunday, 30th November 2025 with her loving family by her side. Predeceased by her son Brian, parents Daniel and Hannah-May, brothers Jerry, Dennis and Patrick. Beloved wife and best friend of Pat, and dear mother of Fergal, Deirdre and Conor.
Margaret will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, sons, daughter, daughter-in-law Ann-Marie, cherished grandchildren Cian and Aoibhín, brothers Donal and Michael, sisters Joan Desmond and Sr. Kate, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Shevlin’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street on Tuesday from 2pm to 7pm. House private please on Sunday 30th November and Tuesday 2nd of December. Removal from her residence, Ashgrove on Wednesday morning at 10.45am driving to The Church of the Holy Family arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
