Decision made on plans for 84 new homes in mid-Louth
Louth County Council has given a conditional go ahead for the construction of 84 new houses in Dunleer.
Lorrac Developments Ltd applied to Louth County Council in March of this year, for planning permission for the development at the Dundalk Road, Mountaintown, Dunleer, Co Louth, seeking the go ahead to construct the development, which includes a creche, on a site of approximately 3.08 hectares.
The proposed 84 houses comprise 18 two-bed, 52 three-bed and 14 four-bed units. The planning application also provides for all associated site development works including landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths, internal access roads, public lighting, foul and surface water drainage.
A decision had initially been due in May on the application but it was put on hold following the request from the local authority for further information on the proposed development, with significant further information in relation to the development subsequently being submitted in October.

Louth County Council made the decision to grant planning permission for the development on 3 December, subject to 20 planning conditions.
Among the planning conditions, Louth County Council said that the first occupations of the homes must be by "individual purchasers, ie those not being a corporate entity, and/or by those eligible for the occupation of social and/or affordable housing, including cost rental housing".
