Network Ireland Louth, in partnership with AIB, recently hosted a highly engaging and informative event at AIB’s Drogheda branch on Dyer Street. The event, titled “Support Your Reason Why,” brought together members and guests for an evening focused on financial wellbeing and personal resilience.

Paul Mernagh of AIB delivered a practical and insightful session on financial planning, sparking an engaging discussion among attendees. “When we talk about financial planning, it’s about more than numbers – it’s about protecting the life you have built and the people you love,” Paul explained.

Speaking to an audience of mainly self-employed female solopreneurs, he stressed “the importance of doing a review of where you’re at, looking at the whole household, helping you and your partner align on your future goals, and being confident that you’re on track. It’s never too early or too late to start.”

Paul highlighted that life events such as illness, changes in income, buying a home, children starting college, or planning for retirement all demonstrate why financial preparedness is essential.

Following Paul’s engaging presentation, Fiona McShane of Just Breathe led a thoughtful and uplifting session on the importance of self-care in the midst of busy professional lives. She opened with the poem “Walk Slowly,” reminding attendees to go gently with themselves and consciously make time for rest and reflection.

Sharing practical advice, Fiona encouraged the group with the message that “practice makes progress” and added, “when you say ‘yes’ to others, make sure you’re not saying ‘no’ to yourself.’”  Fiona finished the evening with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation session.

Miriam McCabe, on behalf of AIB, also expressed her admiration for Network Ireland Louth and the support and encouragement it provides to its members. She thanked Nicola Connolly Byrne, President of Network Ireland Louth, for the stellar job she has done during the year and expressed her excitement for 2026, when Pauline Clarke, of KooKee, will take over as branch President.

The event offered the perfect balance of professional guidance and personal wellbeing, leaving participants informed, motivated, and re-energised.
