Louth sees marginal fall in number of people reporting as homeless

Of the 184 adults, 114 were male and 70 were female. 30 were aged 18-24 years old; 99 were aged 25-44; 47 were aged 45-64; and eight people were aged 65 and over. 112 were Irish citizens; 31 were EEA/UK citizens; and 41 were non-EEA citizens.
30 families with 70 children also accessed local authority managed emergency accommodation in the North East region, during the week of 22-28 September 2025. It is up from 30 families with 65 children in August.
Nationally, 11,376 adults and 5,238 children, giving a total of 16,614 people were recorded as homeless in September. It is up from 16,353 in August and yet another record high number of homeless people in the State.
This figure that does not account for those rough sleeping, refugees, asylum seekers, individuals in domestic violence shelters, or those in hidden homelessness—people sleeping in cars, on couches, or in unsuitable living conditions.
