Iarnród Éireann is advising Louth customers that a revised timetable will be in place this October Bank Holiday weekend on all routes with a series of major works taking place from north of Connolly Station to Drogheda / Howth which will result in line closure and alternative arrangements during the weekend, Saturday to Monday inclusive.

A series of works will take place on the Connolly to Drogheda / Howth line across the weekend, including overhead line renewal, track and crossover renewal, bridge works, vegetation management and enabling works for battery-electric infrastructure.

As a result, the following service alterations are in place from Saturday 25th October to Monday 27th October inclusive:

  • Enterprise: Bus transfers will operate between Dublin and Drogheda for all Enterprise services, to a revised timetable.
  • Northern Commuter: There will be no Commuter rail services between Dublin and Drogheda.  A limited bus replacement service will operate between:

    • Dublin Connolly and Donabate, Balbriggan and Drogheda

    • Dublin Connolly and Rush & Lusk and Skerries

  • DART: There will be no DART services between Connolly and Howth/Malahide. Dublin Bus and GoAhead will accept rail tickets to/from affected areas.  DART services will operate between Connolly and Greystones.

Iarnród Éireann says it wishes to apologise to customers for any inconvenience from these essential works.

Full services will operate across the rest of the network over the October Bank Holiday weekend, with a revised timetable. Customers are advised to check times before travel, with full details at www.irishrail.ie and at the Iarnród Éireann app for Saturday 25th to Monday 27th October inclusive.
