Planning permission granted for development in Ardee
Musgrave Limited has been given the go ahead by Louth County Council for a development in Ardee.
The company applied to Louth County Council in February of this year for planning permission for the development at Market Street & rear of Market Street (Former Lanney's Supermarket), Ardee, Co. Louth.
Musgrave Limited sought the go ahead to use the existing archway to the building to Market Street to provide an ungated pedestrian link via the existing archway on Market Street, linking Market Street with the lands to the rear.
The planned development would also consist of the demolition of the warehouse-type building to the rear of Market Street that formed part of the former Supervalu Store, provision of a new shopfront and reopened archway and reopened first floor windows to the rear (west facing) elevation, and a new seating area.

Along with this the development included plans for 37 car parking spaces, including nine EV spaces and one accessible space, 12 cycle parking spaces all to the rear of Market Street. The planning application also provided for landscaping, lighting, including lighting to the new car park area, boundary treatments and all associated site development works.
A decision on the application had been expected earlier in the year but Louth County Council sought further information on the planned development in April.
Following the submission on 26 September of further information to the local planning authority, Louth County Council made the decision to grant planning permission on 17 October, subject to 12 planning conditions.
