Plans progressing for 84 new homes in mid-Louth

Plans are progressing, with a decision due next month from Louth County Council, on a development in Dunleer that if given the go ahead, would see the construction of 84 new houses.

Lorrac Developments Ltd applied to Louth County Council in March of this year, for planning permission for the development at the Dundalk Road, Mountaintown, Dunleer, Co Louth, seeking the go ahead to construct the development, which includes a creche, on a site of approximately 3.08 hectares.

The proposed 84 houses comprise 18 two-bed, 52 three-bed and 14 four-bed units. The planning application also provides for all associated site development works including landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths, internal access roads, public lighting, foul and surface water drainage.

A decision had initially been due in May on the application but it was put on hold following the request from the local authority for further information on the proposed development.

Following the submission on 10 October of significant further information in relation to the development, a decision is now due from Louth County Council by 6 November 2025.
