Planning permission refused for new hotel in north Louth

New 50 bed hotel refused planning permission

Louth County Council has refused planning permission for a new 50-bed hotel in the north of the county.

Trinamarie Mooney applied in June of this year to Louth County Council, for outline planning permission for a new 50-bed hotel at Greenore Road, Liberties, Carlingford, Co Louth.

The proposed new hotel would have included an associated function room, kitchen, restaurant and bar. The application also provided for items including storage areas, and all ancillary and associated site development works including: site clearance works; new vehicular/pedestrian access to hotel complex off the R176 Greenore Road; car parking spaces including public car parking area; and hard and soft landscaping and boundary treatment works.

Louth County Council made the decision to refuse planning permission for the development on 14 August. It is not yet clear why planning permission was refused.
