Mathis Lefebvre’s journey is one of creativity, curiosity, and code
Mathis Lefebvre’s journey is one of creativity, curiosity, and code. Currently pursuing a degree in Automated Systems and Computer Engineering at Polytech Angers, Mathis recently completed a dynamic internship at Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab in Dundalk, a hub for digital fabrication and collaboration.
“I’ve always loved FabLabs — places where creativity is the only limit,” Mathis says. Drawn to improve his English and gain practical experience abroad, he discovered Creative Spark through the global FabLabs.io network and found the perfect environment to test ideas and push boundaries.
During his time at Creative Spark, Mathis led two standout projects:
From 3D printers to CNC machines, Mathis immersed himself in digital fabrication tools and software like Inkscape, turning imagined designs into tangible prototypes. “Bringing an imaginary object to life — that’s what motivates me,” he says.

His academic journey hasn’t always been smooth, but Mathis has grown more confident through practical exploration and collaborative teamwork. He believes his studies give him the agility to navigate diverse engineering domains and think creatively across disciplines.
With one year left in his programme and his TOEIC English exam on the horizon, Mathis is focused — but dreaming big. “Robotics is definitely at the top of my list,” he says of potential career paths.
As for FabLabs? He’s a firm believer in their transformative power: “They help people discover new manufacturing processes and bring ideas to life. I think they’ll become part of everyday life — opening up a whole new world of prototyping and creativity.”
Creative Spark Enterprise FabLab is supported by Enterprise Ireland through the Regional Enterprise Development Fund.
