May they rest in peace

The death has occurred of Ethel Kerr (née Lennon) of Anne St, and late of Patrick St, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, in her 96th year, surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the dedicated staff at Silverstream Nursing Home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Gerry, cherished daughter Frances, parents Thomas and Bridget, brothers Patsy, Teddy, and Tommy, and sisters Isabel and Irene. Ethel will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Angela (Watt), grandchildren Kerri and Ben, as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Reposing at Dixon’s Funeral Home, Maxwell Row, Bridge Street, Dundalk on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place in the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11 o’clock, thereafter to St. Patrick’s Cemetery for burial via Patrick Street.

The death has occurred of Maura Hand (née Bury) of Sliabh Breagh, Ardee, Co Louth

Peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday 7 August 2025. Predeceased by her husband Tom, her parents Patrick and Mary, her brother Brendan and sisters Joan and Colette.

She will be sadly missed by her much loved and devoted family Liam, Gráinne, Niamh, Tomas and Colm, her cherished grandchildren Conor, Eimear, Clodagh, Eimhín, Colm, Aoife, Ciarán, Oran, Caragh, Luke, Ciara and Clara, daughters-in-law Elaine, Lisa and Ludy, sons-in-law Gary and Steph, sisters Bernadette and Eileen, brother Desmond, nephews, nieces, extended family, wonderful neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Finlay Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee, on Saturday from 2pm to 7pm. Removal from her home on Sunday at 11:30am on foot to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady Ardee arriving for 12 noon Funeral Mass and afterwards on foot to Sliabh Breagh en route to Ballapousta Cemetery for burial.

The death has occurred of Bridie Callan of Donaghmoyne Court, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Dundalk, Louth 

Peacefully in the tender loving care of the staff at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmacross on Thursday 7 August 2025. Predeceased by her parents Owen and Bridget and her brothers Michael, Pat, James, Gene. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nephews, nieces, sister-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends both in Ireland and England.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 9am to St. Lastra’s Church, Donaghmoyne, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery. Family Flowers only please, donations, if desired to, Patient Comfort Fund, Castleross Nursing Home.

The death has occurred of John McArdle of Courtbane, Hackballscross, Dundalk, Louth

On 6 August 2025, peacefully at home in the loving care of his family. Devoted husband of Kathleen. Cherished father of Brigid, Roisin & John Joe. Dear father in law of Shane, Sean & Martin. Beloved grandfather of Caolán, Colleen, Sean Og, Tomás, Éabha, Dearbhla, Fionn, Ríona & Diarmuid. Predeceased by his parents Cissie & John Harry RIP. Brother of Felix, Mary, Ann, Rose, Eileen, Patricia and the late Harry, James & Philip RIP.

Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughters, son, sons in law, nine grandchildren, brother, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, extended Mc Ardle family, neighbours & many friends. 

Reposing at his late residence at Courtbane, Hackballscross Dundalk. Wake visiting times: Saturday 4-8pm. House strictly private at all other times. Funeral on Monday 11 August leaving at 10:20am to St Patrick’s Church, Crossmaglen (walking from the Square) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am.
