Dundalk Sub Aqua Search And Rescue Unit member Damien Welby
Dundalk Sub Aqua Search And Rescue Unit said they would like to congratulate one of their own Damien Welby who achieved his Moniteur 2 divers status.
Damien is a member of An Garda Síochána, originally from Co. Donegal, now based in Co. Louth, where he resides with his wife and children.
He reached his 3 Star Divers Certificate during the Covid pandemic, which was no easy task, with his duties at home and as a frontline worker.
In the context of C.F.T. (Irish Underwater Council), a Moniteur 2 diver has achieved the highest level of recreational diving after a rigorous intense assessment process.

Damien has also been involved in a number searches with Dundalk Sub Aqua Search And Rescue Unit.
