Cathaoirleach of Ardee Municipal District, Cllr Dolores Minogue said she was was delighted to welcome the Chairperson of Louth GAA, Seán McClean, to a meeting with MEP Nina Carberry to discuss potential European funding to support the development of the new Louth GAA stadium.

“We had a very productive and encouraging discussion, and MEP Carberry has committed to a follow-up meeting to explore the funding avenues further”, Cllr Minogue explained.

“As an elected member of Louth County Council, I sit on several boards that monitor and guide funding streams coming into the region.

“This gives me a valuable insight into where opportunities lie, and I was happy to share this with Seán — just as I have done for many local clubs across my area.

“ In several cases, we’ve had great success in securing funding; in others, we haven’t been as lucky — but I’ve always done my best to support every group that reaches out. It was a great day for both Seán and myself to have the opportunity to raise this project at European level.”
