Dundalk Gardaí seize car after 16-year-old caught driving

A 16-year-old driver has been referred to the Juvenile Liaison Office after being stopped by Dundalk Roads Policing Unit at the weekend.

Gardaí were on patrol when their Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system flagged the vehicle.

On stopping the car, officers discovered that the driver was a sixteen year old with no driving licence or insurance.

The vehicle was seized and the young driver will now be dealt with through the Juvenile Diversion Programme.
