A range of competitions are open to the public this year
The countdown is officially on for one of the region’s biggest and best-loved agricultural shows, as the Castleblayney Show returns this August Bank Holiday Monday with something for everyone to enjoy. Organisers have promised a jam-packed day of competitions, attractions, demonstrations, and free family fun and they’re calling on locals and visitors alike to get their entries in before the 19th of July deadline.
From livestock classes to cookery demos, children’s entertainment to sustainability showcases, this year’s show is shaping up to be a true celebration of rural life. Whether you’re hoping to pick up a prize, promote your business, learn a new skill or simply soak up the festival atmosphere, Castleblayney Show 2025 is not to be missed.
The following sections available for competition entries: Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Goats, Poultry, Eggs, Home Industries, Horticulture, Art, Painting, Photography, Woodwork, Metalwork, Needlework, Crafts, Adults with additional needs, Residents of Nursing Homes, Post Primary (Teen Section), Children, Children with additional needs, and Dogs. We have plenty of choices in each of the sections. Competitions are closing on Saturday 19th July.
Current applications are also being considered for trade stands with a spokesperson for the show saying:
“We have had a large number of applications over the past few days so please bear with us. We still have some availability for Indoor and Outdoor trade stands. The Castleblayney Show is one of the largest shows in the region. Make sure you are at the Castleblayney Show to showcase your business. The closing date is 19th July. No applications will be accepted after this date. Book your trade stand Now. Plenty of options available for Indoor Food Village, Indoor Trade Stands, Information trade stands and Outdoor Trade Stands.

Families can look forward to a packed programme of free children’s entertainment at this year’s Castleblayney Show, with plenty of attractions and activities to keep youngsters of all ages happy throughout the day. From fun competitions in the dedicated Children’s Village to hands-on crafts and games, there’s no shortage of ways for kids to get involved and entry to all children’s competition classes is completely free.

One of this year’s lively highlights will be a free Jiving Workshop hosted by Jivin Country. Taking place in front of the main stand from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, the session is open to everyone.
In response to the growing focus on greener farming practices, the Castleblayney Show will debut a special Biodiversity and Sustainability Marquee this year. This new feature will offer visitors practical information and ideas on how to boost biodiversity and improve sustainability on farms and in rural communities. Businesses with relevant products or services are encouraged to book a trade stand at a special rate and contact the team at info@castleblayneyshow.ie
Popular TV chef Adrian Martin will make a welcome return to Castleblayney this year, serving up live cookery demonstrations throughout the day. Visitors can look forward to sampling delicious dishes and picking up expert tips to try at home. Beauty fans can also look forward to seeing Carly Fisher back in action at this year’s show. Carly will host a live makeup demonstration, sharing her professional techniques and insider advice to help visitors refresh their beauty routines.
The show will be providing a free shuttle bus on the day of the show on Bank Holiday Monday 4th August. The collection point will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks. The bus is commencing from 11:30am and will run every half hour throughout the day in and out of the town.

The Castleblayney Show has a very limited number of Membership badges available. These badges cover admission to the show field on Show Day. Cost is €10 per badge and can be purchased by contacting The Castleblayney Show by telephone or email.
