The book is published to mark the 50th anniversary of the atrocity
“The Killing of the Reavey Brothers,” co-authored by Eugene Reavey and award-winning journalist Ken Murray, will be launched with a book signing on 14th July at 7pm in the Riverbank Restaurant in Killanny.
Published to mark the 50th anniversary of the atrocity, the book chronicles the night of January 4, 1976, when Eugene’s three brothers — John Martin (24), Brian (22), and Anthony (17) — were brutally gunned down in their South Armagh home by a loyalist death squad and the harrowing reality of life under the menacing forces driving the conflict.
“I wrote this book out of love — for my brothers, for truth, and for every family that still waits for answers,” said Eugene Reavey.
Told in Eugene Reavey’s own words, the memoir is billed as “not just a story of personal loss but a courageous pursuit of truth in the face of silence, denial, and decades-long collusion.

“Through decades of meticulous research and the journalistic expertise of Ken Murray, the book uncovers the shocking revelations and never before seen evidence of collusion between political and paramilitary forces and sheds light on how the Reavey name was later smeared in a bid to rewrite history.
“From private grief to public advocacy, The Killing of the Reavey Brothers is both a damning indictment of state-sponsored violence and a testament to the enduring strength of a family determined to clear its name.
“It is a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the human cost of conflict, the trauma of unresolved justice, and the resilience required to face it head-on.”
