The Louth Garda Division saw a significant increase in the number of burglary offences recorded in the county in the 12 month period to March 2025, compared to the previous 12 month period, according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office.

375 burglary and related offences were recorded in the Louth Garda Division in the 12 months to the end of March 2025, up 62 or 19.8% on the 313 recorded in the previous 12 months. In the first quarter (Q1) of this year 109 offences were recorded, up from 88 in the final quarter of 2024, and also up from 100 in Q1 2024.

The figures contrast with the national figures for burglary offences, which fell by 6% in the year to Q1 2025 compared with the same period in 2024.

The number of theft and related offences recorded in the Louth Garda Division also rose in the 12 months to the end of March 2025, but Q1 of this year also saw a decrease on Q4 2024.
