Louth sees rise in number signing on Live Register

There was a rise in the number of people signing on the Live Register across Louth in June, according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

3,336 people signed on in Dundalk in June, up 133 or 4.2% on the 3,203 who signed on in May. The highest percentage increase was seen in Ardee however, with 750 people signing on in June, up 81 people, or 12.1% on the 669 who signed on in the town in May of this year.

In Drogheda, 3,274 people signed on the Live Register in June 2025, up 103 or 3.3% on the 3,171 people who signed on in the town in May.

Overall in Louth however, the number of people who signed on in June 2025, is still below the number who signed on in the county in June 2024. 7,360 people in total signed on the Live Register in June 2025, 119 lower than the 7,479 who signed on in June 2024.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for June 2025 was 168,500 people, up by 2,200 people or 1.3% from May 2025. The unadjusted Live Register total stood at 172,663 people for June 2025, of which 54.1% were male and 72.1% were Irish.

There were 12,063 people benefitting from the EU's Temporary Protection Directive included in the Live Register figures for June 2025, an increase of 4 people from May 2025.
