Step into the world of 18th-century Ireland with Gile na Gile – The Life and Music of Aogán Ó Rathaille, a powerful performance blending traditional music and poetry.

Taking place on, 6 June at 8pm in An Táin Arts Centre, this original work is composed and presented by acclaimed artists Lorcán Mac Mathúna (voice), Martin Tourish (accordion), and Éamonn Galldubh (pipes and flute).

Ó Rathaille lived through the fall of the Gaelic order and helped forge a new literary movement, the Aisling—the “music of vision” in a time of despair. His poetry, once sung across Munster, remains a fierce and moving witness to Ireland’s turbulent past.

General Manager of An Táin Arts Cenre Mary Claire Cowley says ‘This will be the third time we will welcome Lorcán MacMathuna back to An Táin Arts Centre for what will truly be an inspring and beautiful performance of an almost spiritual nature. If you have not seen him and his band perform before, you won’t be disappointed. ’

Tickets are €18 / €16 concession (+€1.50 booking fee) and can be purchased from our box office on 042 93 32332 or online at antain.ie
