Developer to make changes to development at Connolly's Field

Plans to modify a permitted Strategic Housing Development (SHD) that is currently under construction in Dundalk have been given the go ahead by Louth County Council.

Crescent Sites Ltd applied to the local planning authority in March for planning permission for a Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD), consisting of modifications to the SHD of 114 apartments that are currently under construction at Connolly's Field, at the junction of Hill Street and The Long Avenue in Dundalk.

The modifications involve alterations to Block A of the development only, a six storey building, and comprise, on the ground floor, a mix of commercial retail, management suite, and medical space, along with residential apartments. The upper floors of the block consist of residential apartments including a mix of one and two bedroom units.

Residents amenity spaces are proposed by the developer, through landscaped roof top gardens. A total of 58 apartments are proposed made up of 14 two-bed units and 44 one-bed units. The application also provides for associated groundworks, landscaping, drainage, engineering and ancillary works necessary to facilitate the development.

Louth County Council granted planning permission for the development on 13 May, subject to 20 planning conditions.
