Call out to organisations ahead of Louth Volunteer Fair 2024

Louth Volunteer Centre has announced the return of the annual Louth Volunteer Fai

Louth Volunteer Centre says it is excited to announce the return of the annual Louth Volunteer Fair, taking place at The Barbican Centre, Drogheda, on Saturday 10 May, from 1-3 pm.

The centre says that this is a wonderful opportunity for Louth community, voluntary, not-for-profit, and charity organisations to showcase their work, connect in-person with the public, and find new, enthusiastic volunteers to join their team. It encourages those interested to reserve a free spot for their stand now, while there is still space.

Louth Volunteer Centre says that if your organisation involves volunteers and is looking to recruit, expand, or strengthen its team, this event is purpose designed for you. It says that the Louth Volunteer Fair “offers a unique platform to raise awareness about your cause, engage directly with people passionate about giving back, and highlight the benefits of joining your organisation as a volunteer.

“Online recruitment is a fantastic tool, but you can’t beat the strength of making personal connections in engaging new potential volunteers.” Louth Volunteer Centre will be on hand to provide experienced guidance on best practices in volunteer engagement, including training, crafting role descriptions, Garda vetting, and volunteer engagement strategies.

Among the reasons an organisation should take part, Louth Volunteer Centre says it can:

  • Attract New Volunteers: Meet: people face-to-face who are actively looking for meaningful ways to get involved.
  • Boost Awareness & Visibility: Showcase your organisation’s mission, impact, and the vital work you do.
  • Network with Other Organisations: Strengthen relationships within the voluntary sector and share valuable insights with like-minded groups.
  • Access Support: Learn how to improve volunteer retention, structure effective volunteer roles, and develop your team effectively.

On the day, Louth Volunteer Centre says organisations can gain exposure, connect with potential volunteers, and access support on volunteer engagement. It says that “whether you’re a grassroots initiative or established charity, this fair can help you find new supporters.”

It adds that attendees can learn about the Louth Community Volunteer Program, which provides flexible volunteering options and event-based support for local initiatives.

Interested organisations can reserve a free stand by contacting info@volunteerlouth.ie or calling Drogheda: 041 9809008 | Dundalk: 042 9392934 / 086 0431379.

Volunteers wishing to get involved are encouraged to simply drop by on the day to explore the wide range of opportunities available. Louth Volunteer Centre adds that it is committed to helping organisations build strong, sustainable volunteer programs that benefit both the volunteers and the wider community.
