Louth County Council Litter Wardens carried out 126 investigations in February
Louth County Council has said that its litter wardens completed 126 investigations in response to dumping reported by members of the public during the month of February.
In its monthly reporting on litter enforcement and investigations in the county, the local authority said that 20 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued in February where evidence was found under the Litter Pollution Act 1997.
Louth County Council says that its litter wardens continue to deal with all litter matters within the county daily responding to complaints from members of the public, councillors and engaging with tidy towns groups and communities.
It adds that in February Litter Wardens continued to carry out foot patrols with a focus on dog fouling. Leaflets were handed out and bin stickers were replaced in locations around the County.
The local authority also advised that seven water pollution complaints were received in February, and that investigations and site visits were carried out in all cases and all complaints were investigated with one complaint remaining open.
