Louth Gardaí catch driver nearly 5 times over limit in insurance crackdown

The operation is part of a broader effort by Gardaí to tackle uninsured and reckless driving.

Gardaí in Dundalk were out in force yesterday as part of a nationwide operation targeting uninsured drivers, with six motorists stopped and taken off the road for insurance offences.

However, one case stood out in particular – the driver of a Toyota Landcruiser who was not only uninsured but was also found to be nearly five times over the legal drink-driving limit. The driver was immediately arrested and has since been charged.

The operation is part of a broader effort by Gardaí to tackle uninsured and reckless driving.
