Gardaí in Louth visiting schools during Internet Safety Week
The Community Policing Unit in Dundalk are visiting local Primary and Post Primary Schools around Louth to speak to young people about internet safety.
To mark Safer Internet Day, Gardaí are teaching students about the guidelines they should be following when using their phones, tablets, devices and computers to access the Internet.
These visits, according to Gardaí, will continue as part of a strategy to combat online bullying and abuse and ensure children's safety online.
Gardaí encourage all parents to set appropriate online boundaries for their children and young people and to ensure that their access to apps and sites is supervised accordingly, and appropriate to their age group.
Gardaí Prior, Patterson, McCrystal and Copperthwaite have carried out visits to Bush Post Primary School, Carlingford and CBS Primary School Dundalk.
