The Féilte Bursary Scheme is designed to support collaboration between schools and enhance teachers’ professional learning. In total, the Teaching Council has awarded funding of €100,000 to schools across Ireland. St. Joseph's National School will receive €2,000 for their project to establish a ‘Professional Learning Community (PLC)’ focussing on the new Mathematics curriculum.

St. Joseph's National School will work in collaboration with Redeemer Boys’ National School, Dundalk to establish a ‘Professional Learning Community (PLC)’ that will share best practices on the new Mathematics curriculum. The two schools will work together to develop ideas to address the new teaching methodologies on the curriculum, and to collaborate on successes and challenges of teaching in a DEIS Band 1 School.

Congratulating St. Joseph's National School, Director of the Teaching Council, Dr Lynn Ramsey said: “Teachers at St. Joseph's National School, and across Ireland, have shown significant creativity, innovation and commitment to professional learning through the Féilte Bursary Scheme.
