The death has occurred of Marie Magennis (née Coyle) of Dundalk, Co Louth and late of Bruse, Arva, Co Cavan

On 5 February 2025, following an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Predeceased by her late husband Eugene Magennis. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her adored daughter Megan Rose, brother Michael, sisters, Imelda and Connie (Brady), sister-in-law Breda, and brother-in-law Joe. Also remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Reposing at McGeoughs Funeral home, Jocelyn Street, from 4pm until 7pm on Friday. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Killean Cemetery, Clontigora Road, Co. The death has occurred of Laurence Peter Swan of "Dulargy Cottage", Ravensdale, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and the exceptional caring staff of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Beloved husband of Anna, cherished brother of Marcus, adored father of Tristan and Alicia, much loved gandy/grandpa to Raphael, Vanessa, Chloe, Natacha and Lorcán and great-grandfather to Lena.

A private cremation will take place. A Service in Celebration of his life will be held in St. Mary’s Church, Ballymascanlan on Sunday, 16th February at 3pm with a tea afterwards at Bellurgan Park. All welcome. House private. Donations if desired, in lieu of flowers, to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Ireland.

The death has occurred of John James (Shamie) McGahon of Nelson, Lancashire, UK and formerly of Sliabh Breagh, Ardee, Co Louth

On 24 January 2025, peacefully in Lancashire. Predeceased by his wife Aina, sister Rita and brother Tony. Sadly missed by his loving family, son Kevin and his wife Debbie, brothers Pasty and Junior, sister Eileen Moran, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Sarah and Zoe and great-grandchild Alfie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Tenanty's Funeral Home, Market Square, Ardee on Thursday from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm and at his niece Susan's residence, Cookstown, Ardee on Friday from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Removal on Saturday morning at 9.30 am to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.00 am. Burial afterwards in Ballapousta Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Canon Francis Noel Conway of Belfast, Antrim / Carlingford, Louth / Dublin City, Dublin / Sligo Town, Sligo

Peacefully in Nazareth Care Village on Tuesday 4th February 2025. Former PP of Strangford and Kilclief. Youngest brother of the late Cardinal William Conway. Very deeply regretted by his sorrowing nieces and nephews in Belfast, Derry, Dublin and England and by the Bishop, Clergy and lay faithful of the Diocese of Down and Connor.

Reposing in O’Kanes Funeral Home, 116-118 Donegall Street, Belfast until Friday 7th February when his remains will be received for the Liturgy of Reception in Stella Maris Church, Strangford at 5.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 8th February at 11.00am, followed by interment in St Malachy’s Cemetery, Kilclief.
