A second playground has been targeted in Dundalk by vandals, just a few weeks after the refurbished playground at St Helena's Park in the town had to be closed for repairs after being damaged by vandalism.

Cllr John Reilly shared photos on social media of what he called "mindless vandalism", which was carried out at the playground at Coulter Place on the Armagh Road, where vandals pulled out fencing and damaged some of the play equipment.

Cllr Reilly's Fine Gael colleague, Cllr Robert Nash, commented on the damage done, saying that it was "very frustrating and extremely disappointing" to see the damage that was done, "so soon after the vandalism in St Helenas". He added that "this playground is used by all the families in the area and its them that will suffer from this mindless piece of vandalism".

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station, on 042 938 8400.
