Network Ireland Louth held its first event of the year in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk on the eve of Storm Éowyn. The impending storm did not quell the enthusiasm of Nicola Connolly-Byrne as this was her first event as 2025 President of the branch.

The speaker for the event was Denise Horan otherwise known as ‘Denise Inspired’ who is a marketing expert that helps business owners ‘Build Authority Online’. Denise had lots of advice that she shared with the large number of businesswomen present. These women have a wide range of businesses and sometimes are time poor when it comes to prioritising social media.

Denise said she was told many years ago that part of the reason that a business fails is due to obscurity. They are not showing up online, so no one knows about them. She emphasised that “it is your duty to let people know that you are open for business”.

She also reminded the group that social media is not about selling. The hint is in the word ‘social’ – it about telling people a story that they will engage with. Fear holds us back from being visible online as we are afraid of failure. She advised to consistently post for 90 days and results will happen remembering that something has to be seen 48 times before it registers with people.

Denise had many more kernels of marketing wisdom that she left with the audience. There was great interaction and discussions with many questions being asked and an opportunity for everyone present to learn about the businesses of others and get networking.

Nicola Connolly-Byrne wrapped up the night telling everyone of her plans for 2025 for Network Ireland Louth and her passion and commitment to growing the branch and supporting its members.
