Status Red wind warning in effect in Louth until 11am
People in Louth are being urged to stay indoors as Storm Éowyn continues to cross the region with a Status Red wind warning in effect until 11am.
Thousands were left without power this morning in the North East, with ESB crews restoring power in some areas, but many remaining without power. Cllr Antóin Watters has said that local ESB brews are asking people to ring in outages "even if it’s on power check in their area. They will need to capture as much information as possible. ESB emergency number is 1800 372 999. Or you can opt in using power check app."
Louth County Council is sharing reports of trees down and power lines down across the region. Here are some of the reports:
⚠️ The Gardai have reported that a tree has fallen at Ardhallow on the Marlbog Road, Haggardstown. Please avoid the area. A reminder that our emergency crews can only attend only when it is safe to do so.
