Dundalk Chamber explores innovation at Creative Spark

On Thursday 25 April, continuing their commitment to fostering business growth and innovation, Dundalk Chamber embarked on another insightful Business Tour, this time visiting Creative Spark.

Since its inception in 2012, Creative Spark has been at the forefront of innovation and creativity. 

The organisation has consistently stayed ahead of the curve, evident through strategic expansions such as the introduction of the Print Studio in 2014, the Creative Spark Downtown Hub in 2022,(which Dundalk Chamber part funded through Oriel Hub) and the recent addition of the cutting-edge Enterprise FabLab. 

This new facility caters specifically to entrepreneurs and SMEs, offering access to state-of-the-art equipment, expert guidance, and dedicated workspace to facilitate their product design and development.

Sarah Daly, the Executive Director of Creative Spark, expressed her delight in hosting the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Business Tour. 

She emphasised the importance of such engagements in fostering connections and understanding the dynamics of the local business ecosystem. 

Sarah extended her gratitude to Dundalk Chamber for including Creative Spark in their event series, acknowledging the valuable opportunity it provides for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Pat McCormick, President of Dundalk Chamber, echoed Sarah's sentiments, praising Creative Spark as a vital asset to Dundalk's business landscape. 

He commended the organisation's commitment to fostering innovation and providing resources for local entrepreneurs to thrive.

Hanna Laatio McDonnell, member of the Board of Dundalk Chamber, said: “I was honoured to represent the Dundalk Chamber today at the Creative Spark Dundalk networking morning.

“It is amazing what putting yourself out there and networking with fellow businesses can do to both your own mindset but also help you understand how you can give back to your community and see it grow.

“Creative Spark is part of our business ecosystem here in Dundalk and they have an amazing set up. The Enterprise FabLab is just incredible and right on our doorstep.

“I will definitely be looking at how to utilise it for my business going forward.”

Paddy Malone, PRO of the Chamber, commented that the opportunities were unrestricted for those with an idea to create and develop prototypes in everything from paper to plastic and metal in Dundalk . They can dream and then see and feel  the reality.

The Chamber said the event served as a testament to the thriving business ecosystem in Dundalk and the collaborative spirit driving its growth. Participants left inspired and eager to explore new avenues for innovation and growth, with Creative Spark standing as a beacon of opportunity within the community.
