Member of Offaly Live team and his sister taking on massive challenge for DEBRA
A member of the Louth Live team and his sister are taking on a massive challenge for Debra.
Ad Ops Manager Shane Dowd and his sister Sophia will take on the 2024 Debra Kerry Challenge from May 17 to 19 in Dingle.
They are embarking on 2 Day hike in the mountains in Dingle, County Kerry to raise money for Debra Ireland.
Debra Ireland is a charity working with families with loved ones suffering from a rare genetic skin condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa or E.B.
Sophia said, "children who are born with this condition are called 'Butterflies' because they are missing the layer of protective collagen underneath the outer layer of skin leaving their skin wafer thin, like butterfly wings.
"The slightest touch to their delicate skin can cause blisters, cuts and sores. We're trying to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful charity." she continued.
"It's not out first time taking part in the Debra Challenge in Kerry and although the scenery is beautiful the challenge ahead is tough, but we know its for a worthwhile cause" said Shane "If anyone can donate anything to this wonderful charity we both would really appreciate it"
All funds raised will go directly to Debra Ireland. Accommodation and meals will be paid for by Shane and Sophia
